Swapnil Kiran Pradhan is a loyal BeeUp participant who worked on the ”circular economy in the furniture industry” case study participant, and he is currently working on the "Create a new business unit for a successful enterprise" case study. He acquired a Master’s Degree in Management Studies from his home country, India, at the University of Mumbai, and an MSc in Ms, Logistics, Materials, and Supply Chain Management from NEOMA Business School in France. He is currently working in France as an International Purchasing Supervisor at a multinational electronics distribution company.
He found it easy to relate to the case study and understand it because he was accustomed to the various problems that are incurred in logistics as a management and supply chain professional. Swapnil concentrated on developing a component that will allow trains to travel long distances and withstand harsh weather conditions. He was inspired by his home country, which hosts over 65,808 kilometers of rail lines and it is ranked the fourth country with the most rail line network in the world. The component will make it easy for railway maintenance crews to quickly detect a problem and fix it in a short period of time, which will help to improve the transportation of goods and reduce trail way traffic due to breakdowns and unscheduled maintenance. He used the business tools that were provided to him by our coaches, which included the alternative map, the business model canvas, and Osterwalder’s value proposition canvas.
Swapnil noted that he was familiar with the business model canvas and Osterwalder’s value proposition canvas, however, it was the first time he used the alternative map. He highlighted that the alternative map allowed him to explore the different options he had and choose the best one to effectively decipher the problem. The coaching experience allowed him to think broadly and be creative. He mentioned that before joining BeeUp, he mostly restricted his ideas and solutions. In that regard, the experience gave him a good foundation to improve his skills and knowledge, which will also help him in his career in the future.
As one of the most prestigious scholars who participated in the competition, Swapnil noted that it was an honor to be part of a diverse educational society and he was pleased to compete against other professional from around the world. The whole experience served as a motivation to continue learning and broaden his perspective on different business aspects.
"The BeeUp experience was very intriguing. It is fascinating how a lot of professionals from around the world gathered and shared ideas on how to solve global problems. I am very honored by the support that I got from BeeUp throughout my journey with them, and I encourage other aspiring young professionals to take part in the case studies. "
