BeeUp 2024: Competition Overview, Protocols, and Evaluation Criteria

 

1. Prize Money

Teams will be assessed based on the criteria outlined below. The top 3 winners of the competition will receive the following sums at the end of the competition:

3. COMMUNICATION PROTOCOL

Communication with the coaches will take place through the coach-team channel. In the first coaching session, the coach may share their WhatsApp number with you; however, for data privacy reasons, all task-related submissions must be shared exclusively in the coach-team channel.

 

4. Competition Protocols

  1. Narrow AI Focus: All assumptions on how AI affects job profiles must be based on Narrow AI (task-specific AI systems) as defined in the competition's task instructions. General AI assumptions are not allowed.
  2. Job Profile and Persona Mapping Components: Participants must include the following elements when creating a job profile:Job Role
    • Job Role Description
    • Key Responsibilities
    • Required Skills
  3. AI Job Replacement Estimation: To estimate the percentage of tasks that AI can automate, participants must use the specific prompt provided in the task instructions document.
  4. Narrative Memo Length: The narrative memo should be limited to 2 pages.
  5. SWOT Analysis Tools: Canva and HubSpot are recommended tools but not limited for creating templates to map strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
  6. Original Work Requirement: All analyses, ideas, and justifications must be original. Any form of plagiarism will result in immediate disqualification.
  7. Use of AI Tools: Participants are encouraged to use AI tools like ChatGPT for assistance. However, using AI to complete all tasks is prohibited. Job-profiles and Ideas will be verified whether they are AI-generated or not.
  8. Professional Presentation: All deliverables must be professionally formatted and presented.
  9. Submission Process: All documents must be submitted through the team channel on the Beeup website.
  10. Other Communication: All other communication will take place through the competition's designated WhatsApp group.

 

5. Timeline (Tentative)

  • Mid-submission Deadline: 25th November 2024 (Tasks 1, 2, and 3)
  • Final Submission Deadline: 25th January2025 (updated from December 20th)
  • Winner Announcement: 31st January 2025 (updated from December 20th)

Note: The competition allows participants to join at any time. If you decide to join later, for instance if you join the competition in the second week of november, you will still have until December to complete all tasks. The competition ends on December 24th, but entries are accepted at any time before then. All participants will be evaluated fairly, regardless of when they join.

How original and innovative are the proposed use cases for job profiles displaced or enhanced by AI and robots?

 

The uniqueness and creativity of the proposed solutions will be evaluated, focusing on how novel and disruptive the solutions are within the job market and industries affected by AI.

How comprehensive was the SWOT analysis performed for the chosen job profile regarding AI disruption or enhancement?

 

The SWOT analysis will be evaluated based on how well it captures the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats related to AI’s impact on the job profile, including strategic insights into potential future adaptations.

How comprehensively was the Business Model Canvas developed to reflect the commercialization of use cases for job profiles displaced or enhanced by AI and robots?

 

The Business Model Canvas must clearly demonstrate a practical approach to commercializing the AI-enhanced or displaced job profile, including key activities, partners, revenue streams, and value propositions.

How well was the narrative memo crafted to convey the team’s idea or strategy?

 

The narrative memo will be judged on its clarity, coherence, and structure, as well as its ability to tell a compelling story and effectively present research, conclusions, and strategies.
